Great Team Atmosphere

“My favorite part about working for Herndon is the small agency feel. I like being able to interact with my officers and knowing them personally.”

I Give Back To My Community

“I enjoy working at HPD because I grew up in town and it was time I give back to my community. What better way to do that than to be a part of the police department? Being part of a force that helps solve problems makes working at HPD worthwhile!”

Not Just a Number

“One reason I love working for Herndon Police Department is the many opportunities to attend trainings. The department encourages officers to further their career in many aspects. Another reason is you’re not just a number. Everybody knows everybody!”

Supportive Work Environment

“When I joined the Herndon Police Department as an experienced, lateral police officer, I hoped for a different work environment from the department I had worked for previously; I got so much more than that. Since the day I arrived at HPD I have experienced an extremely positive and supportive work environment that starts with command staff and runs throughout the rest of the department, including supervisors, and all my co-workers. Training and equipment are a top priority at HPD which is also a very important reason I feel very fortunate to be an officer at HPD.

A Highly Rewarding Boost To Career

“Transferring to the Herndon Police Department from a larger agency was a highly rewarding boost to my law enforcement career. At HPD, my formative experiences are valued as I find myself collaborating with all sections within the department. Additionally, HPD values the importance of employee wellness; I feel trusted and valued as an employee and as an individual with a life outside work.”

Part of the Herndon Family

“I love working at Herndon Police Department because, from the moment you are hired, you become a part of the Herndon Family. As a female officer in a male-dominated profession, feeling at home was a big thing for me. Being a female made no difference and it’s a brother/sisterhood that can’t be put into words but felt from the moment you walk in.”
